Role Description/Purpose

The British Council is looking for an organised and detail-oriented Exams Delivery Network Coordinator to join our Exams & English Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the secure, compliant, and efficient delivery of examinations across a country or location.

In this role, you will coordinate all aspects of exam delivery operations, supporting the successful execution of pre-test, test-day and post-test activities. You will ensure that venues, equipment, materials, and staffing arrangements are in place and fully compliant with British Council and awarding body requirements. Your work will be central to maintaining the highest standards of quality, security, and customer service throughout the exam cycle.

You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, selection, contracting, and coordination of both internal and external venues, ensuring that resources are available, cost-effective, and fit for purpose. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, you will ensure operational readiness for all examinations and support the smooth delivery of services across your assigned location.

As part of the Operational Delivery function within Exams & English Operations, you will contribute to maintaining exam integrity and compliance with global Standard Operating Procedures. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen logistics processes, and improve the overall customer experience.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, capable of managing multiple priorities, and committed to delivering high-quality operational support in a fast-paced environment. You will have strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively within established procedures and compliance frameworks.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys operational planning, problem-solving, and delivering services that make a positive impact on customers and colleagues alike.

Role Accountabilities

As an Exams Delivery Network Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the secure, efficient, and compliant delivery of examinations across your country or location. You will coordinate all operational aspects of pre-test, test-day and post-test activities, ensuring that delivery is carried out in line with global Standard Operating Procedures, security requirements, and quality standards.

You will oversee the sourcing, contracting, and performance management of examination venues and third‑party delivery partners, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and with a strong focus on value for money. The role also involves coordinating the procurement, maintenance, and readiness of equipment and materials required for exam delivery, including laptops, scanners, signage, and secure storage facilities. Ensuring the secure handling, transportation, and tracking of confidential examination materials will be a key responsibility.

Working closely with colleagues, venues, suppliers, and delivery partners, you will lead operational readiness checks, venue audits, and risk assessments to ensure all examinations are delivered smoothly and securely. You will coordinate test‑day staffing arrangements to maintain appropriate operational coverage and may also participate in delivery rosters when required. As the primary operational point of contact for venues, test‑day staff, and delivery partners, you will manage the escalation of issues, coordinate incident responses, and ensure effective communication with relevant stakeholders.

A strong focus on risk management and compliance is central to this role. You will ensure adherence to all security, regulatory, and integrity requirements related to exams delivery. You will support compliance audits, incident investigations, and the maintenance of accurate operational records and audit trails, while working closely with Governance and Compliance colleagues to provide assurance that operational standards are consistently met.

The role also requires effective stakeholder engagement and customer focus. You will coordinate operational communications with candidates, partners, and internal teams, ensuring that customer feedback and observations from test days are captured, reviewed, and acted upon. You will work proactively with venue owners, suppliers, and delivery partners to address service, compliance, or performance issues and to drive continuous improvement.

In addition, you will support the efficient management of resources by overseeing venue and supplier contracts, purchase orders, payments, and cost tracking. You will ensure that venues, materials, equipment, and staffing resources are used effectively and in line with organisational policies and procedures.

This position may involve the supervision of Delivery Network Assistants, venue staff, and temporary test‑day teams. You will contribute to developing staff capability through training and guidance on operational procedures, compliance requirements, and risk management practices. You will help foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, security, and continuous improvement, ensuring high standards are maintained across all aspects of exam delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional who enjoys operational coordination, stakeholder engagement, and delivering exceptional service in a fast‑paced and quality‑driven environment.
