Job summary

OBSS is a technology consultancy delivering AI-native solutions with 1,000+ tech professionals and offices in Istanbul, Ankara and London. The data platform team seeks a hands-on data engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and lakehouse architectures.

You will collaborate with architects and DevOps to ensure production readiness, document procedures, and drive performance improvements across large datasets in a hybrid Turkey-based environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, big data, or data platform operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark, SQL, and data pipeline development.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and operational support, preferably Apache Airflow.
• Working knowledge of data lake/lakehouse architectures and technologies such as Iceberg, Trino, and S3-compatible object storage.
• Experience with JupyterHub and at least one BI or database access tool such as Superset or CloudBeaver.
• Experience in monitoring data workflows, analysing logs, troubleshooting failures, and resolving performance issues.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and container platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Experience supporting application installation, configuration, version upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Ability to collaborate with architects and DevOps teams on platform integration, deployment, and production readiness.
• Experience creating operational documentation, runbooks, and technical procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, ownership, and teamwork skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
