Job summary

BtcTurk MENA seeks an experienced Compliance Officer to build and lead the Compliance, MLRO and Risk functions for its regional operations, based in Dubai. The role requires oversight of AML/CFT, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening and regulatory reporting.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in senior compliance roles, including MLRO duties, with strong risk management and UAE regulatory experience, plus relevant certifications such as CAMS or ICA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in senior compliance roles, including 2+ years as MLRO.
• Strong risk management experience with the ability to assume Head of Risk responsibilities.
• Experience in licensed financial institutions, ideally crypto/VASPs.
• Hands-on AML/CFT, sanctions, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting.
• UAE regulatory experience is a strong plus.
• CAMS, ICA or similar certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Compliance function, including policies, procedures and controls aligned with UAE regulatory and AML/CFT requirements.
• Support the VARA licensing process and take ownership of ongoing regulatory obligations once licensed.
• Act as MLRO, owning AML/CFT obligations, suspicious activity assessments and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee KYC, CDD/EDD, sanctions screening, Travel Rule and transaction monitoring frameworks.
• Own the enterprise risk management framework, identifying, assessing and monitoring key risks.
• Track regulatory developments and ensure changes are reflected in policies, controls and business processes.
• Manage communication with regulators, including regulatory requests and interactions.
• Independently assess business and commercial decisions, and challenge or escalate where necessary.
• Promote a strong compliance and risk culture across the organization.

BtcTurk, the group behind Turkey’s first cryptocurrency exchange serving over 6 million users, is expanding into the UAE and the wider region through BtcTurk MENA.

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to build and lead BtcTurk MENA’s Compliance, MLRO and Risk functions, providing independent risk and compliance judgement across the business. This is a full-time role based in Dubai.
