Job summary

East Central University seeks a dedicated Coach to develop and maintain contact with prospective students, guiding them through admissions, financial aid, and first-year transition. The role collaborates with Ada/Noble Public Schools and OK GEAR UP staff to promote continued postsecondary education.

The position focuses on on-campus engagement and outreach, including FAFSA assistance, campus tours, and data entry, with partnership across OK public colleges.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree.
• Preferred: Experience working in a college or school setting with knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, and enrollment processes.

Responsibilities

• The Coach will devote a majority of their time to the ECU campus helping first year students complete a successful first year experience and assisting Ada Public Schools and Noble Public Schools with postsecondary planning.
• The Coach will greet and assist students on their assigned campus during college tours from OK GEAR UP partner schools visiting ECU.
• The Coach will assist the OK GEAR UP Site Director in ensuring Ada Public Schools and Noble High School Seniors have a completed FAFSA on file and will assist ECU campus GEAR UP students with FAFSA help as needed.
• The Coach should visit Ada High School and Noble High School Seniors in a presentation setting during their senior year.
• The Coach will complete all required OK GEAR UP training and data entry.
• The Coach will report to the OK GEAR UP Grant Administrator on activities and to the ECU Supervisor on campus policies and procedures.
• The Coach will attend meetings and trainings as required by the ECU Supervisor and keep the supervisor updated on activities, absences and off-campus work.
• The Coach is an ECU employee and should foster good relationships on campus, supporting GEAR UP in OKC.
• The Coach is required to attend the monthly OK GEAR UP staff meeting in OKC.
• The Coach should help OK GEAR UP Site Director ensure Ada and Noble Schools’ Promise students complete mandatory paperwork before deadlines during their senior year.
• The Coach should support Concurrent enrolled students and encourage post-secondary continuance of education.
• The Coach will work on a team with Coaches from SEOSU, NSU, ECU, UCO and SWOSU.
• The Coach is not an ECU exclusive recruiter but may encourage students to ECU opportunities.
• The Coach is a general promoter of all Oklahoma Public Colleges.
