Job summary

Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Engineering team. You will perform carpentry, woodworking, lock and glass work, and decorative finishes throughout the hotel, ensuring high standards for guests and team members.

You will manufacture and install wooden fixtures, complete PPM tasks, and maintain records while adhering to health and safety regulations. Strong teamwork and guest-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Vocational high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• MYK vocational certificate is a plus.
• Previous hotel or large facility carpentry experience preferred.
• Experience with wooden fixtures, doors and decorative finishes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry, woodworking, lock, glass, maintenance and decorative works.
• Manufacture, install, maintain and repair wooden fixtures and furniture.
• Execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks and keep records.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE rules for safety.
• Inspect tools and equipment; manage spare parts inventory.
• Support guest maintenance requests and respond professionally.

Reporting To : Director of Engineering

What will I be doing?

As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for carrying out carpentry, woodworking, lock, glass, maintenance, repair, and decorative works throughout the hotel to the highest standards, ensuring an excellent experience for our Guests and Team Members.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Carry out carpentry, woodworking, lock, glass, maintenance, repair, and decorative works throughout the hotel.

• Manufacture, install, maintain, and repair wooden fixtures, furniture, doors, cabinets, and other wooden components.

• Complete all assigned Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks and maintain accurate maintenance records.

• Comply with all Health & Safety regulations by following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Ensure all workshop equipment, hand tools, and fixed assets are maintained in good working condition, including regular maintenance and inventory checks.

• Safely and correctly operate all hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment under your responsibility.

• Monitor external contractors to ensure compliance with Hilton standards and Health & Safety regulations, taking appropriate action when necessary.

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests and resolve complaints in accordance with Hilton standards.

• Actively participate in emergency response teams.

• Carry out all assigned duties and attend all required training programs.

• Manage the ordering, storage, protection, and inventory control of spare parts and consumable materials.

• Vocational High School diploma or Associate Degree in Furniture, Wood Technologies, Carpentry, or a related field is preferred.

• MYK (Vocational Qualifications Authority of Türkiye) Vocational Qualification Certificate is preferred.

• Previous carpentry experience in hotels, shopping malls, hospitals, or other large-scale facilities.

• Knowledge and experience in woodworking, furniture repair, doors, locks, glazing, and decorative finishing works.

• Ability to safely and effectively use carpentry tools, hand tools, and power tools.

• Knowledge of planned preventive maintenance and repair procedures.

• Good understanding and application of Health & Safety regulations.

• Strong team player with a responsible and solution-oriented approach.

• Excellent communication skills with a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.

• Awareness of energy efficiency and responsible resource management.

• Experience in technical materials, spare parts, and inventory management is preferred.
