Job summary

TEKFEN ENGINEERING in Istanbul seeks a dedicated Bridge Design Engineer to join our office. You will perform structural analysis, design reinforced concrete structures, develop FEM models, and prepare calculations and drawings.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with international standards, and travel for site evaluations. Requires 2–5 years of experience and proficiency in SAP2000/MIDAS; knowledge of Turkish standards and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant structural engineering experience in bridge design or heavy civil projects.
• Proven experience with SAP2000 and/or MIDAS or similar software.
• Solid understanding of structural mechanics, RC design, seismic analysis, and foundation-structure interaction.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish Standards, Eurocodes, AASHTO, and British Standards.
• Experience with TKDY 2000 seismic code for bridges is required.
• Experience in bridges, viaducts, tunnels, underground structures, or related transportation structures.
• Knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, or similar software is advantageous.
• Good command of English; strong analytical and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel short-term for site evaluations and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures for transportation projects.
• Develop structural models and FEM analyzes including static, dynamic, seismic, and construction-stage analyses using SAP2000, MIDAS, or similar software.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Design and analyze bridges, viaducts, tunnels, underground structures, retaining structures, and rail system structures.
• Assess structures under gravity, seismic, wind, thermal, and construction-stage loading.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, transportation, architectural, MEP, and other disciplines.
• Participate in technical design reviews and client discussions.
• Review assumptions, models, calculations, and deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
