Job summary

SevenApps is seeking a Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain Python-based backend systems across multiple services. You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver scalable APIs and robust data handling.

Our stack includes FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services (GCP, AWS, Heroku). On-site in Istanbul, you’ll contribute from day one and shape the backend of applications reaching millions of users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong Python and backend framework skills (FastAPI preferred).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and version control systems (Git).

We’re now looking for a Backend Developer to join our crew.

About The Role

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Python-based backend systems. You will contribute across multiple applications and services, and be involved in the end-to-end development lifecycle.

You’ll be working with a cross-functional team including backend developers, product managers, and designers.

Our stack includes Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL, GCP, AWS, Heroku, Docker, Kubernetes, Datadog, GitHub Actions, Modal, and Replicate.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Manage and optimize container-based applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Monitor application performance and reliability using Datadog
• Develop integration and bridge solutions for cloud environments (e.g., Modal, Replicate)
• Deploy and maintain applications on GCP App Engine, Cloud Run, and Heroku
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following OOP and design principles
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins

What We’re Looking For

Must-have

• 3+ years of experience in backend development
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks (preferably FastAPI)
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and version control systems (Git)
• Strong problem-solving skills and structured thinking approach

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Heroku
• Familiarity with ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Experience with Firebase ecosystem
• Hands-on experience with tools like Modal or Replicate
• Experience in high-scale mobile app backends

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our 4. Levent, Istanbul office.
