The Automation Lead will be part of the automation development team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining automation solutions based on incoming business requests. This role focuses on delivering practical and sustainable automations using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Platform, and similar automation technologies to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support digital transformation across business processes.
Working closely with business units, business analysts, product/process owners, and technology stakeholders, the role translates automation needs into technical solutions and contributes to the continuous improvement of automation capabilities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze incoming automation requests, understand business needs, and clarify requirements in collaboration with business analysts and request owners
- Design, develop, test, and deploy automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, and other relevant automation tools
- Build reliable, scalable, and maintainable workflows that reduce manual workload and improve operational efficiency
- Develop supporting scripts, macros, or integrations using technologies such as VBA, Java, or similar tools where required
- Support the automation lifecycle from requirement analysis and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot existing automation flows to ensure continuity, stability, and performance
- Document developed automations, including process logic, technical design, user instructions, and support procedures
- Collaborate with team members to apply development standards, reusability principles, security considerations, and governance requirements
- Follow new capabilities in Microsoft Power Platform, AI, and intelligent automation technologies, and contribute ideas for improving automation delivery
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related field
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in developing automation solutions, preferably using Microsoft Power Automate and Power Platform
- Good understanding of workflow design, process automation concepts, and end-to-end solution development
- Experience with Power Apps, connectors, approvals, forms, data integrations, and similar Power Platform components is a strong asset
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical automation designs
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a development team and communicate effectively with business stakeholders
- Willingness to learn new automation, AI, and low-code/no-code technologies
- Good command of English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automation, low-code/no-code development, RPA, workflow management, or digital transformation projects
- Hands-on experience integrating Power Platform solutions with enterprise applications, databases, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, or other Microsoft 365 services
- Familiarity with agile ways of working, backlog management, user stories, testing, and release processes
- Knowledge of AI-enabled automation, document processing, classification, or decision-support solutions is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple automation requests while maintaining quality, documentation, and stakeholder satisfaction
