Job summary

OBSS is seeking an Android Developer to join its teams in Istanbul to build high-quality native apps using Kotlin and Java. You will collaborate across product, design, and backend teams to deliver scalable mobile solutions with modern architectures and robust testing.

You will work in an Agile environment, contribute to code reviews, and stay current with Android trends, tooling, and best practices to drive business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java programming languages.
• Solid understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack components.
• Experience with MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and Retrofit.
• Familiarity with databases like SQLite/Room/Realm.
• Experience with unit and UI testing (JUnit, Espresso).
• Proficient with Git and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend developers, and stakeholders to deliver excellent user experiences.

OBSS is looking for a Android Developer to join our dynamic team and contribute to delivering end-to-end software solutions across diverse industries. You will work on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality applications that solve real business problems.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Architect scalable, reusable, and maintainable app components applying clean code principles and design patterns (MVVM, MVI).
• Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party libraries effectively.
• Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and battery usage.
• Write unit tests and UI tests to ensure app stability and quality.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum processes including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of coding standards.
• Manage codebases using Git or other version control systems.
• Stay current with the latest Android development trends, tools, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure seamless user experience.

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and network libraries like Retrofit.
• Familiarity with databases such as SQLite, Room, or Realm.
• Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso).
• Understanding of material design principles and good UI/UX practices.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Proficient with version control tools, especially Git.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, and Dependency Injection frameworks (Hilt, Koin).
• Apps published on Google Play Store or contributions to open-source Android projects.
• Ability to approach AI with curiosity and intention, actively incorporating AI-powered tools into workflows to enhance productivity and drive innovation.
