Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University (IZU) invites applications for a Research Associate to join our AI R&D Laboratory. The role focuses on cutting-edge NLP, LLM, and predictive analytics research, with opportunities to influence institutional software integration and campus systems.

You will teach one course per semester, supervise at least one graduate student, collaborate with software engineers to deploy AI models, pursue competitive grants, and manage the lab's multi-node GPU infrastructure.

Qualifications

• PhD required in CS/AI/DS or related field.
• Strong publication record in top-tier AI conferences or journals.
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience in developing LLM-based applications or predictive modeling is a plus.
• Familiarity with distributed GPU computing, cluster networking, and server/Linux administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-impact research in NLP, LLM, or Institutional Intelligence.
• Teach one undergraduate or graduate course per semester.
• Supervise/Co-advise at least one graduate student.
• Collaborate with software engineering to integrate AI models into the Campus Information System (CIS).
• Prepare and submit research grants (TÜBİTAK, Horizon Europe, or others).
• Manage the lab's multi-node GPU computing infrastructure, network topology, and system administration.
