Job summary

WSH Experts Pte Ltd. is seeking a dedicated technician to support zebrafish husbandry and facility maintenance at our Singapore lab. You will feed fish, monitor water quality, assist with breeding, and help with tank cleaning and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include operation of aquatic systems, equipment troubleshooting, data logging, and assisting researchers with sample collection under IACUC/AAALAC guidelines. Working hours are 8am–5:45pm Mon-Thu, 8am–5:15pm Fri. On-site position.

Responsibilities

• Daily Care: Feeding zebrafish (live or dry food), monitoring water quality (pH, temperature, conductivity, etc.), and ensuring proper tank conditions.
• Tank Cleaning & Sanitization: Routine cleaning of tanks, systems, and equipment to prevent contamination.
• Breeding Support: Assisting with spawning setups, egg collection, and larval rearing.
• Health Monitoring: Observing fish for signs of disease, stress, or abnormalities and reporting to supervisors.
• Waste Management: Proper disposal of biological waste and adherence to biosafety protocols.
• Aquatic System Operation: Monitoring recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), filters, and life support systems.
• Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving minor technical issues with tanks, pumps, or water supply.
• Sterilization & Autoclaving: Cleaning and sterilizing tanks, tools, nets, and equipment.
• Data Logging: Maintaining records of fish mortality and inventory.
• Compliance: Ensuring adherence to institutional, national, and international animal welfare regulations (IACUC & AAALAC).
• Assisting Scientists: Helping with breeding tank setups and embryos collection.
• Sample Collection: Assisting in euthanasia according to ethical guidelines.
• Monitoring Lab Supplies: Managing inventory of fish food, chemicals, and lab materials.
• Training: Helping train new staff or students in zebrafish handling and facility protocols.
• Safety Compliance: Following lab safety procedures, including chemical handling and emergency protocols.
