Job summary

New Life Community Services in Singapore is seeking a Senior Youth Worker to engage, support and empower youths aged 11 to 21 through impactful programmes and mentorship.

The role requires 5–8 years of relevant experience, a degree in Social Work/psychology/counselling or youth work, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. You will mentor a team and collaborate with teachers, social workers and community partners to meet youths' needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Youth Work.
• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience working with youths in senior roles.
• Proficient in English and Mother Tongue.
• Experience working with youths in similar role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate youths from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

About the role

New Life Youth serves young people aged 11 to 21. We are seeking a passionate and committed Youth Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in engaging, supporting, and empowering youths to reach their full potential through impactful programmes and positive mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and implement programmes and activities that promote the holistic development and well-being of youths.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with youth, serving as a mentor and positive role model.

• Provide individual support and guidance to youths, helping youth overcome challenges and work towards their personal goals.

• Facilitate group discussions, and workshops, and activities on topics such as, health, education, life skills, and social development.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. teachers, social workers, and community partners) to support youths' needs.

• Maintain accurate and confidential case records, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

• Engage with the community to understand and respond to the needs and interests of local youth.

• Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

• Stay updated on trends, issues, and developments affecting young people.

• Provide supervision, guidance, and support to a team of youth workers (for Senior Youth Worker role).

About you
