Job summary

Applied Materials in Singapore is seeking a Process Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor technologies. You will collect data, perform hardware characterization, troubleshoot issues, measure film properties, and generate technical documentation while engaging with customers and suppliers.

You will lead defect, particle, contamination, and yield investigations; develop root-cause analyses, process improvements, and training materials; and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7–10 years of related experience.
• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in complex problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for defect, particle, contamination, and yield-related investigations.
• Develop deep expertise in defect characterization using defect maps, SEM, TEM, EDX, chamber data, and process analytics.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for customer escalations and field issues.
• Develop and validate process, hardware, and operational improvements to reduce defectivity and improve yield.
• Establish BKMs, troubleshooting guides, defect libraries, and training materials.
• Lead productivity improvement projects focused on chamber stability, matching, uptime, and cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with Engineering, GPS, TPS, Manufacturing, Quality, and Account teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support alpha, beta, and new product introductions through defect risk assessment and qualification activities.
• Mentor engineers and build organizational capability in defect analysis and contamination control.
