Job summary

Woh Hup Group in Singapore is seeking a Workplace Safety Health & Environment (WSHE) Manager to ensure project sites comply with health and safety laws by establishing policies and processes to create a safe workplace and culture.

You will monitor WSHE management systems, advise management, provide regular reports, ensure training records, conduct site inspections, and oversee audits on project sites. A 10+ year construction background with team leadership is required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Higher WSH-related qualifications; WSHO training preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in the Construction industry with team management.
  • Certifications: WSHO registration; ECMO with Institute of Engineers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review the WSHE management system and procedures for compliance with Codes of Practice and government legislation.
  • Advise management on WSHE matters relating to authority procedures on all project sites.
  • Provide regular reports on the performance of the WSHE management system to management.
  • Ensure stakeholders attend WSHE training as required by law and the Company.
  • Maintain documentation of WSHE training, accident reports, and communications with authorities.
  • Conduct periodic WSHE site inspections to verify compliance with programmes and procedures.
  • Ensure external and internal audits are conducted on all project sites as per authority requirements.
  • Be prepared to stop work or notify the Project Manager of WSHE deviations.

Job description

The Workplace Safety Health & Environment (WSHE) Manager is responsible to ensure the project sites complies with health and safety laws by establishing and reviewing policies and processes to create and maintain a safe workplace and culture.

A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

  • Monitor and review the Company’s WSHE management system and procedures, and to ensure procedures are updated and in compliance with the latest Codes of Practice and government legislation.
  • WSHE expert in advising the management on all WSHE matters pertaining to authority procedures on all project sites.
  • Provide and present regular reports to the management on the performance of the Company’s WSHE management system.
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders, from Site Managers to workers, attend the relevant WSHE courses as required by law and the Company.
  • Ensure proper documentation and records keeping of all WSHE training, accident reports and safety correspondences with respective authority.
  • Conduct periodic WSHE site inspections to ensure site compliance with WSHE programmes and procedures.
  • Ensure external & internal audits are conducted on all project sites as per authority requirements.
  • Be prepared to stop work or to notify the Project Manager in the event of any WSHE deviations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Education: Higher WSH-related qualifications other than WSHO required training preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of post-registration and practical experience in the Construction industry with at least team management experience
  • Prefer individuals with a track record in handling complex, large-scale or mega projects.
  • Registered WSHO with Ministry of Manpower and register ECO with National Environmental Agency. ECMO with Institute of Engineers is preferred
