Job summary

SH Design & Build Pte. Ltd. is seeking a seasoned WSH professional to oversee safety for HDB construction sites in Singapore.

You will develop and implement the Safety Management System, conduct regular inspections, and drive training to ensure regulatory compliance. You will lead investigations into incidents, coordinate emergency drills, and liaise with MOM and other authorities. A MOM-registered WSHO with 5+ years of construction experience is required, with preference for HDB project

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of WSH experience in the construction industry.
• MOM-registered WSHO.
• Experience with HDB projects preferred.
• Familiar with Singapore WSH legislation, risk assessment, Safe Work Procedures and construction safety requirements.

Job description

Job responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) matters for HDB construction projects.

• Develop, review and implement the Safety Management System, Safe Work Procedures and Risk Assessments in accordance with statutory requirements.

• Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, toolbox meetings, safety briefings and training for employees, contractors and sub-contractors.

• Monitor and enforce compliance with WSH requirements, site safety rules and safe work practices.

• Identify potential workplace hazards, recommend appropriate control measures and follow up on corrective actions.

• Lead and conduct investigations into workplace incidents, accidents and WSH non-compliances, and recommend appropriate remedial actions.

• Prepare and maintain WSH reports, safety statistics, inspection records and other required safety documentation.

• Coordinate emergency response activities, SERT training and emergency drills.

• Lead and supervise site safety personnel and work closely with the Project Team, contractors and sub-contractors to maintain a safe working environment.

• Liaise with MOM and other relevant authorities on WSH matters, inspections and regulatory requirements.

• Implement safety campaigns and initiatives to promote a strong safety culture across the project.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements:

• Degree / Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a relevant discipline preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant WSH experience in the construction industry.

• MOM-registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).

• Prior experience in HDB projects is highly preferred.

• Fire Safety Officer / relevant fire safety certification will be an advantage.

• Familiar with Singapore WSH legislation, risk assessment, Safe Work Procedures and construction safety requirements.

• Experience in conducting safety inspections, audits, toolbox meetings, training and incident investigations.

• Strong interpersonal, communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, contractors and sub-contractors.
