Job summary

China Communications Construction Company Limited (Singapore Branch) is seeking a Safety Officer to plan, implement, and oversee safety at a construction site in Tampines. You will ensure compliance with safety rules and legislation, liaise with multiple departments on health matters, and lead safety training for site workers.

The role requires at least 3 years in construction and a WSH Level B or equivalent certification, with preference for LTA tunnelling experience and experience managing

Qualifications

• Must hold WSH Level B or equivalent safety certificates.
• At least 3 years of working experience in construction.
• LTA tunnelling experience is preferred.
• Experience managing Chinese subcontractor workforce.
• Good interpersonal skills are essential.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing safety-related issues at the site.
• Ensure all construction site works adhere to safety rules and safe work practices as well as safety legislation.
• Liaise with different departments on all safety and health matters.
• Identify any situation that is potentially unsafe and/or hazardous in nature, feedback to Manager and team, investigate and recommend any corrective actions.
• Oversees and directs the entire process of safety analysis including any accident investigation.
• Responsible for keeping records of safety-related matters and recommendation/administration of corrective measures at the site.
• Assist the Manager to performs evaluations of safety policies, methods, and programs.
• Organizes safety training for site employees.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Certificate in Advanced Certificate in WSH Level B and/or any relevant Safety Certificates from any local approved institutions will be preferred.
• With at least 3 years of working experience in the construction industry.
• LTA with tunnelling experiences will be preferred.
• Proven experience managing Chinese subcontractor workforces to deliver construction projects safely.
• Good interpersonal skills.

• 6 working days per week, flexible arrangement for Saturday.
