EdgeProp Singapore is seeking a curious Writer/Journalist to join our property news platform’s editorial team full-time, covering people, deals, developments, trends and ideas shaping real estate markets in Singapore and the wider region.

No prior property experience is required. If you’re interested in business, investment, design, architecture, technology or how urban spaces are changing, there are plenty of stories here to explore.

Responsibilities

• Report on breaking news and features about real estate in Singapore and the region.
• Interview developers, investors, architects, agents, analysts and other newsmakers.
• Attend property launches, site visits, media briefings and industry events.
• Dig into transactions and market data to tell the story behind the numbers.
• Turn complex subjects into clear, engaging stories.
• Build relationships with sources and grow your network over time.
• Pitch original story ideas from major deals to changing neighbourhoods and living patterns.
• Collaborate with editors to sharpen reporting, writing and storytelling skills.

We are looking for a curious Writer / Journalist to join our property news platform’s editorial team full-time, covering the people, deals, developments, trends and ideas driving real estate markets in Singapore and the wider region.

No prior property experience is required. If you’re interested in business, investment, design, architecture, technology or how urban spaces are changing, there are plenty of stories here to explore.

What you’ll do:

• Report on breaking news and features, track market trends, and draw on analysis from industry experts on real estate in Singapore and the region.
• Interview real estate developers, investors, architects, agents, analysts, homeowners and other newsmakers or industry figures.
• Attend property launches, site visits, media briefings and industry events.
• Dig into transactions and market data to spot the story behind the numbers.
• Turn complex subjects into clear, engaging stories.
• Build relationships with sources and grow your own network of contacts over time.
• Find and pitch original story ideas — which may range from major property deals and new buildings to emerging neighbourhoods, entrepreneurs, and changing ways of living and working.
• Work with editors to sharpen your reporting, writing and storytelling skills.

Who we are looking for:

This role is open to fresh graduates seeking their first journalism role; young content writers or communications professionals looking to move into news reporting; journalists who wish to specialise in real estate; as well as independent or freelance writers aiming to build a full-time career in the field.

• A clear, engaging writer: You can explain complex ideas simply, bring style to a story when it calls for it, and hold a reader’s attention.
• Comfortable engaging with people: You are willing to make calls, meet new contacts, and ask questions.
• Resourceful: When you do not know something, you look for the answer.

Useful but not essential: Experience with a campus publication, website, newsletter, blog or other writing platform.
