Wintel Engineer

Job summary

LPS in Singapore is seeking an experienced Wintel/Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and support Windows Server environments, VMware virtualization, and enterprise storage solutions. You will drive incident response, capacity planning, and system hardening following ITIL and CIS benchmarks.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with cross-functional teams on project delivery, and maintain comprehensive documentation, SOPs, and configuration standards to ensure high availability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in a Wintel/Infrastructure engineering role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server OS, VMware, and enterprise storage.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (eG, SolarWinds) and scripting (PowerShell, Python).
• Deep understanding of ITIL principles and practical experience operating in an ITIL-aligned environment.
• Proven experience managing enterprise backup (Commvault and Veritas NetBackup).

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, maintain, and support Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022).
• Administer and optimize VMware virtualization environments (ESXi, vCenter).
• Manage Pure Storage platforms ensuring performance, availability, and data integrity.
• Monitor infrastructure health using EG Innovations and ensure proactive incident response.
• Maintain and administer Veritas NetBackup solutions for data protection and recovery.
• Configure and manage WSUS for patch management.
• Support and manage core services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Group Policies.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and system upgrades.
• Perform system hardening based on CIS hardening standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project delivery and BAU operations.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, SOPs, and configuration standards.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members and serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues.

• Support and manage core services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Group Policies.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.

• Ensure system security and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project delivery and BAU operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent
• experience).
• At least 5 years of experience in a Wintel/Infrastructure engineering role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server OS, VMware, and enterprise storage.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (eG, SolarWinds) and proficiency in automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Deep understanding of ITIL principles and practical experience operating in an ITIL-aligned
• Proven experience managing enterprise backup (Commvault and Veritas NetBackup).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a high-availability
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
