Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) seeks a Vice President to join the Indonesia Strategic Planning Group, supporting the strategic direction and oversight of SMBC subsidiaries in Indonesia across Retail, Wholesale, SME, Ultra-micro banking, and non-bank financing.

The role offers exposure to business promotion, strategic planning, and performance management, requiring strong initiative, data-driven thinking, and ability to present insights to senior leadership across geographies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; extensive experience in strategy, planning, and performance management.
• Experience in strategy consulting within a management consulting environment.
• Strong ability to translate complex analysis into clear, executive-level messaging.
• Proven ability to collaborate across functions and geographies and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of strategic planning and business development initiatives in Indonesia.
• Drive performance of subsidiaries in Indonesia and expand lines of business by delivering insightful analysis.
• Implement strategies based on banking products, processes, and governance frameworks to support growth.
• Identify collaboration opportunities across SMBC Group to realize synergies in local markets.
• Develop KPIs aligned with mid-term strategies and monitor performance via local management reports.
• Prepare timely reporting for Head Office and Regional Office requirements.
• Collaborate with Head Office and Regional Office to strengthen governance for AGMD-controlled entities.
