Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) in Singapore seeks an experienced operations and compliance professional to drive regulatory reporting, credit covenant verification and risk controls across wholesale and retail lending.

The role requires leadership of sizeable teams, strong communication with stakeholders, and proven ability to manage multiple initiatives while meeting deadlines in a high-demand banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in related discipline.
• 10–15 years’ experience in wholesale and retail lending, credit, treasury and trade operational processes.
• Strong knowledge of lending, credit, treasury and trade financing, regulations (MAS Notices 637, 642) and related guidelines.
• Proven track record in managing sizeable operation teams with exposure to retail and wholesale credit lending.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Regulatory reporting experience and knowledge of credit controls and covenants is an added advantage.
• Experience with database management and Oracle is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review facility agreements and letters of offer against approved credit applications.
• Perform independent verification of covenants and ESG conditions for compliance.
• Conduct independent review of mark-to-market for borrowers and meet cut-off times.
• Provide monthly reporting to BU for overdue, breaches and covenant status.
• Ensure strict compliance with banking secrecy guidelines and internal controls.
• Support Team Head on ad-hoc projects and process improvements.
• Maintain high service levels with BUs per SLA and resolve issues promptly.
