Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is seeking an accomplished Operations and Command Centre Leader to oversee global technology operations, ensuring resilience and service reliability across critical environments. You will lead a 24x7 Enterprise Command Centre, drive automation, and govern ITIL processes with senior stakeholders to minimize risk and maximize performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, or related field.
  • 10+ years in Command Center Operations and Batch Processing.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders via clear communication and subject matter expertise.
  • ITIL-based governance and compliance experience.
  • Proven leadership of large, 24x7 operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Enterprise Command Centre for 24x7 operational stability and performance.
  • Oversee enterprise workload automation across Mainframe, Unix/Linux, Windows and hybrid platforms.
  • Drive observability, monitoring, automation, and proactive operations practices.
  • Govern ITIL-based Incident, Problem, Change and Event Management for the Command Centre.
  • Oversee Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity preparedness across technology operations.
  • Establish service reliability, SLA/KPI frameworks and drive improvements in resilience.
  • Lead and develop global operation teams and align priorities with business objectives.

Job Description

Accomplished Operations and Command Centre Leader with extensive experience managing mission‑critical technology operations across global environments. Proven track record in operational resilience, major incident management, disaster recovery, enterprise workload automation, observability, service reliability, and large‑scale operational transformation. Experienced in leading global teams, driving operational excellence, strengthening governance and controls, and influencing senior stakeholders to deliver resilient, stable, and customer‑focused technology services.

Core Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Leadership
  • Lead the Enterprise Command Centre function, ensuring 24x7 operational stability, service availability, and performance.
  • Drive operational excellence, resilience, and continuous improvement across mission‑critical technology services.
Workload Automation & Batch Operations
  • Provide strategic oversight of enterprise workload automation and batch operations across Mainframe, AS/400, Unix/Linux, Windows, and hybrid platforms.
  • Ensure effective governance of critical batch processing, recovery, escalations and timely resolution to incidents.
Modern IT Operations
  • Drive adoption of observability, monitoring, automation, and proactive operations practices to enhance service reliability.
  • Leverage operational analytics and event management capabilities to improve service performance and reduce operational risk.
ITSM & Governance
  • Govern ITIL‑based service management processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Event Management for Command Center function.
  • Ensure adherence to operational controls, audit requirements, risk management, and regulatory standards.
Operational Resilience & Recovery
  • Lead Operational Resilience, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity preparedness across technology operations.
  • Oversee major incident and crisis management activities to minimize business impact and strengthen recovery capabilities.
Service Reliability & Performance
  • Establish and monitor service reliability, availability, and SLA/KPI performance frameworks.
  • Drive initiatives that improve operational stability, recovery effectiveness, and customer experience.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead and develop high‑performing global operations teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to align operational priorities with strategic objectives.
Financial & Strategic Management
  • Define and execute the Command Centre strategy, roadmap, and transformation initiatives.
  • Manage operational budgets, resource planning, vendor relationships, and technology investments.
Operations Management
  • Serve as the IT Operations Lead, providing day‑to‑day operational oversight and management to ensure continuity of leadership and strengthen the team’s operational resilience.
  • Oversee incident escalation and resolution during critical periods, ensuring adherence to SLA commitments and maintaining uninterrupted service availability in a 24x7 Command Center environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Command Center Operations and Batch Processing domains.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to influence stakeholders with excellent communication and subject expertise, drive operational excellence.
  • Demonstrates a proactive and innovative approach to resolving complex operational challenges and driving service improvements, leveraging ITIL best practices to ensure process efficiency and compliance.
  • People Management: Proven ability to lead large teams, mentor, and develop diverse teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance in a 24x7 operational environment.
Technical Skills
Batch Workload Management Tools
  • BMC Control‑M, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS), CA Workload Automation, or equivalent enterprise scheduling platform tools.
IT Service Management (ITSM) Suite
  • ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Helix, TrueSight, Splunk, BHOM and related toolsets.
Project Management
  • Project lifecycle methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Project).
Operating Systems
  • IBM Mainframe z/OS, AS400, UNIX, Windows and Open‑Source platforms.
  • Proficiency in at least two operating system environments is preferred.
