Job summary

HSBC is seeking a high-calibre professional for the VP, Business Assurance and Operations role in Singapore. You will provide governance of onboarding and sales operations, drive channel assurance, and lead improvements across processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight of onboarding and sales operations to strengthen governance, operational discipline, and control effectiveness.
• Own and evolve the channel assurance framework, ensuring consistent control testing, issue identification, and remediation tracking.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes and controls through simplification, standardization, and streamlining initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and enhance customer and colleague experience while maintaining robust risk management.
• Lead transformational change initiatives aligned to the Simplify to Amplify pillar, translating strategic intent into measurable operational outcomes.
• Build and develop a high-performing team, setting clear accountability, priorities, and ways of working to deliver control and process enhancements at pace.

In this role you will:

To be successful you will need:

• Degree holder with 5+ years’ relevant retail banking/financial institution experience and knowledge.


• Proven track record managing effective Control/Operations teams, with strong people leadership and motivation skills


• Forward-thinking and improvement-driven


• Strong business development and negotiation skills; able to partner effectively with internal/external stakeholders


• Highly organised and analytical with strong documentation skills; able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision and thrive in a diverse environment
