Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES in Singapore seeks engineers to develop rule-based image processing and computer vision solutions for industrial inspection. You will design imaging setups and optimize vision systems using OpenCV and Python/C++/C#, with AI integration where applicable.

You will collaborate with industry partners to scope, prototype, and deploy robust vision solutions across inspection workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, CS or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience in image processing and computer vision.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++/C# with OpenCV.
• Understanding of vision hardware, optics, cameras, and lighting.
• Knowledge of AI/deep learning for CV is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with 3D vision/point clouds is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop rule-based image processing and computer vision algorithms for industrial inspection.
• Design and evaluate camera, lens, and lighting configurations for inspection applications.
• Develop and optimize vision solutions using OpenCV and Python/C++/C#.
• Apply AI/deep learning to vision inspection where appropriate.
• Troubleshoot and improve end-to-end inspection performance from imaging to algorithms.
• Work with industry partners to scope, prototype, and deploy vision solutions.
