Job summary

SM2 Consulting's client is seeking a senior Supply Chain Management and Procurement leader to act as the focal point for long-lead-capital equipment procurement across the region. This is a high-visibility, high-pressure role for a seasoned operator who can bring structure, discipline, and vendor leverage to a fast-scaling capital supply chain.

The successful candidate will own vendor relationships end-to-end—from sourcing and qualification through to negotiation, contracting, and framework

Our client is seeking a senior Supply Chain Management and Procurement leader to act as the focal point for all long-lead-equipment (LLE) capital procurement across the region.

This is a high-visibility, high-pressure role suited to a seasoned operator who thrives under sustained commercial and operational intensity, and who can bring structure, discipline, and vendor leverage to a fast-scaling capital equipment supply chain.

The successful candidate will own vendor relationships end-to-end — from sourcing and qualification through to commercial negotiation, contracting, and framework management — while also building out a formal tendering capability from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary focal point for all supply chain and procurement matters relating to long-lead capital equipment (LLE)
• Own and manage the full vendor lifecycle: relationship management, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), commercial frameworks, and cost negotiations
• Build and lead a tendering function/team, including process, governance, and documentation
• Identify and qualify new products and new vendors to diversify and strengthen the supply base
• Lead commercial negotiations on major capital equipment categories, including:
• Manage and develop a direct team
• Represent supply chain and procurement in senior stakeholder discussions, holding firm and negotiating effectively under pressure

Candidate Profile

• Senior, credible operator with a strong track record in capital equipment procurement and supply chain management — data centre, industrial, or building/construction sector backgrounds are all of strong interest
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale vendor relationships, MSAs, and commercial frameworks at significant spend levels
• Proven ability to build and stand up a tendering process/team from scratch
• Comfortable operating in a demanding, high-pressure environment with competing priorities and tight timelines
• Strong commercial negotiation skills, with the gravitas to deal directly with senior vendor and internal stakeholders
