Job summary

direct search asia pte. ltd. in Singapore seeks an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical condition and performance of assigned subsea vessels and ensure compliance with class, flag state, ISM/ISPS, and offshore regulations. The role requires a Marine Engineering degree or diploma and 3–5 years of shore-based experience, with hands-on dry-docking and budgeting duties.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent preferred.
• Experience managing subsea vessels and offshore support vessels.
• Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, DP vessels, Class requirements, and offshore regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical condition and performance of assigned subsea vessels.
• Ensure compliance with Flag State, Class, ISM, ISPS, MLC, and company requirements.
• Plan and manage dry-dockings, vessel upgrades, and major repair projects.
• Prepare and control vessel technical budgets and expenditures.
• Liaise with Masters, Chief Engineers, Class, shipyards, suppliers, and service providers.
• Support vessel audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Operations, Crewing, Procurement, and HSSEQ teams to ensure smooth vessel operations.

• Ensure compliance with Flag State, Class, ISM, ISPS, MLC, and company requirements.
• Monitor and review planned maintenance, repairs, and defect rectification.
• Plan and manage dry-dockings, vessel upgrades, and major repair projects.
• Prepare and control vessel technical budgets and expenditures.
• Liaise with Masters, Chief Engineers, Class, shipyards, suppliers, and service providers.
• Support vessel audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Operations, Crewing, Procurement, and HSSEQ teams to ensure smooth vessel operations.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
• Sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent.
• Experience managing subsea vessels, DSVs, ROV support vessels, construction support vessels, cable-lay vessels, or other offshore support vessels.
• Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, DP vessels, Class requirements, and offshore regulations.
• Experience in dry-docking, technical budgeting, and contractor management.
