Job summary

ALFA TECH VESTASIA PTE. LTD. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for shift-based utility plant upkeep in Singapore’s pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, chemical, or semiconductor sectors. You will perform walkdowns, PM tasks, monitor DCS/BMS, and log work in SAP/Maximo while upholding safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in utility plant maintenance and hold relevant MOM certifications; willingness to work 12-hour shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Eng.
• 1st or 2nd Class Steam Boiler Attendant registration with MOM preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on utility plant maintenance in pharma/biopharma/chemical/semiconductor sectors.
• Able to read P&IDs and process flow sheets; strong mechanical troubleshooting mindset.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts.
• Certifications in WSH in Process Plant are beneficial.
• Experience in plant/unit commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Perform system walkdowns and routine inspections of central utilities (boilers, compressors, chillers, AHUs, pumps, water treatment) and logs
• Execute scheduled PM tasks and rapid troubleshooting to resolve faults
• Monitor equipment via DCS/BMS and record process data
• Log and close maintenance work orders in CMMS (SAP or Maximo) and ensure accurate records
• Ensure safety and compliance with LOTO, MOM boiler regulations, and company rules

Job Description

• Shift Operations:Perform system walkdowns, routine inspections, and parameter checks on central utilities, including high-pressure steamboilers, air compressors, water chillers, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), pump, water softeners, and wastewater treatment systems.

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks and rapid troubleshooting to resolve mechanical or process utility faults.

• Control Room Monitoring:Utilize the plant's Distributed Control System (DCS) and Building Management System (BMS) to monitor equipment performance and keep track of process data.

• CMMS & Record Keeping:Track, log, and close out maintenance work orders using the CMMs, preferably SAP or Maximo.

• Safety & Compliance:Execute all operations and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) activities in strict compliance with plant safe-work procedures, MOM boiler regulations, and company safety rules.
  

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Higher NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.

• Good to have 1st or 2nd Class Steam Boiler Attendant registration with MOM.

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant hands-on experience in utility plant maintenance within pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, chemical, or semiconductor sectors.

• Ability to interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and process flow sheets. Strong, independent mechanical troubleshooting mindset.

• Able to work 12-hour shifts.

• Good to have certification inApply WSH in Process Plantand/orSupervise WSH in Process Plant

• Good to have experience in plant/unit commissioning
