Job summary

• Basic understanding of AI, automation or ML concepts.
• Familiarity with data analytics and process mapping techniques.

Responsibilities

• Map and analyze current RFP/RFQ workflows with the Infra-Portfolio team.

This internship at Synapxe focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to enhance and streamline procurement workflows, specifically within the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes. Interns will collaborate closely with the Infra-Portfolio team to analyse existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and design AI-driven automation solutions aimed at reducing manual effort and improving processing efficiency.

The selected intern(s) will assist in following:

1) Workflow Mapping & Analysis

• Shadow the Infra-Portfolio team to document and map current RFP and RFQ workflows, gaining a comprehensive understanding of existing processes and pain points.

2) Bottleneck Identification

• Analyse workflows to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and operational bottlenecks that impact turnaround time and resource utilisation.

3) Data Analysis for Automation Opportunities

• Examine procurement data to uncover patterns and opportunities where AI and machine learning can be applied to automate repetitive and time‑consuming tasks.

4) Process Improvement Recommendations

• Develop actionable recommendations for workflow optimisation, supported by cost‑benefit analysis to demonstrate potential return on investment and efficiency gains.

5) Stakeholder Engagement

• Gather feedback from procurement staff and relevant stakeholders to validate findings and ensure proposed solutions are practical and user‑centric.

6) Implementation Planning

• Prepare phased implementation roadmaps outlining how proposed AI solutions can be deployed effectively with minimal disruption.

7) Progress Reporting

• Deliver regular presentations to stakeholders, highlighting progress, proposed solutions, and projected improvements in processing time and operational efficiency

About You:

• Undergraduate currently in Year 2 or Year 3, pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Business Artificial Intelligence Systems, Information Systems, Operations Management, Economics, Industrial & Systems Engineering or a related discipline
• Basic understanding of AI, automation, or machine learning concepts
• Familiarity with data analytics and process mapping techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting, and presentations
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proactive, curious, and eager to learn new technologies and business processes
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
