Job summary

HDI Global SE Singapore seeks an experienced Underwriter for Liability Digital Solutions to drive growth in innovative liability insurance across Singapore and the APAC region. The role focuses on underwriting risks, developing scalable B2B2C solutions, managing portfolios, and expanding strategic partnerships with brokers, MGAs, platforms, and ecosystem players.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of underwriting experience in Liability Insurance.
• Experience underwriting affinity programs, group policy schemes, and embedded insurance.
• Proven track record in business development and portfolio growth within liability insurance.
• Established network across APAC including brokers, MGAs, platforms, and business partners.
• Strong understanding of liability products, including Financial Lines, General Liability, or Specialty Lines.

Responsibilities

Underwriting & Portfolio Management

• Underwrite innovative liability risks, including platform-based and embedded insurance structures, to support business growth
• Develop scalable liability solutions within B2B2C business programs to meet market demands
• Drive portfolio profitability by applying disciplined pricing, risk selection, and structuring techniques
• Define and implement underwriting strategies for affinity partners, group policy schemes, and distribution ecosystems
• Apply data-driven underwriting methods and contribute insights to innovative product development

Business Development & Market Expansion

• Build and strengthen relationships with brokers, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders across APAC to expand business opportunities
• Identify and originate new group policy, embedded insurance, and B2B2C business opportunities to grow the portfolio
• Support market expansion initiatives and position HDI as the preferred insurer for innovative liability solutions
• Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to align underwriting strategies with business growth objectives
• Represent HDI at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to enhance market presence

Regulatory & Cross-Border Expertise

• Navigate and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks across multiple APAC jurisdictions to support cross-border insurance programs
• Support the structuring of compliant cross-border insurance solutions within regulatory guidelines

Claims & Risk Management

• Collaborate closely with Claims teams to integrate underwriting and risk management practices effectively
• Engage Claims stakeholders early to address emerging risks and new insurance structures
• Incorporate claims insights into underwriting standards and portfolio management decisions to mitigate risks

Required competencies and certifications

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of underwriting experience in Liability Insurance
• Experience underwriting affinity programs, group policy schemes, and/or embedded insurance solutions
• Proven track record in business development and portfolio growth within liability insurance
• Established network across APAC including brokers, MGAs, platforms, and business partners

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of liability insurance products, preferably Financial Lines, General Liability, or Specialty Lines
• Experience with group policy arrangements, structured programs, cross-border placements, or ecosystem partnerships
