Job summary

RTX’s trainee program offers an 18-month internal or 24-month external training track to become a Workshop Engineer focused on aircraft engine maintenance and assembly. You will experience theory and hands-on training to qualify for a technician authorization, with exposure to SAP and Solumina systems and a structured path to professional readiness.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Internal candidates must hold valid certifying technician (CT) approval.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills; ability to work in rotating day/night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engine disassembly, assembly, testing, inspection, and repair in accordance with current data and aviation authorities.
  • Resolve technical issues encountered during daily operations.
  • Lead and supervise technicians in daily tasks and monitor work quality.
  • Assist Cell Leaders and Managers in planning to meet production targets and goals.
  • Participate in production line projects and housekeeping activities.
  • Maintain tools and fixtures and update SAP/Solumina work orders.
  • Support EH&S and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

The Trainee Workshop Engineer program aims to equip you with the skill and knowledge to become a Workshop Engineer. This trainee program will stretch across 18-months (internal) / 24-months (external) with both structured and on-the-job training. You will undergo a comprehensive theory and practical training program, leading to the grant of an authorization/ approval certificate (subject to the completion of the program requirements).

What You Will Do
  • Perform engine disassembly, assembly, testing, inspection, and repair, in accordance with approved current technical data and any relevant international and local aviation authorities.
  • Solve technical issues and problems as appropriate when encountered in daily work.
  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians in performing daily tasks including work assignment and monitoring.
  • Assist Cell Leaders and Managers in operations planning to achieve production targets, corporate goals and discipline.
  • Participate in production linearity projects and setup, housekeeping and other workshop activities.
  • Upkeep & maintain the Operations tooling and fixture.
  • Carry out SAP and Solumina transactions and make necessary changes to work order.
  • Actively support and participate in continuous improvement, environmental health & safety (EH&S) and quality projects and initiatives.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Diploma in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering disciplines.
  • Internal candidates need to hold valid certifying technician (CT) approval.
  • Good analytical skills, able to grasp concepts, track and resolve issues quickly.
  • Good team player with good organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work on rotating shifts (Day & Night).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SAP systems.
