Job summary

BYJ RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced truck driver for islandwide deliveries between PSA port, warehouses and customer sites.

You will operate the prime mover and trailer, perform safety inspections, and secure cargo. Candidates must hold Singapore Class 4/5 licence with 2–3 years trailer/prime mover experience, a clean driving record, and be able to perform light manual handling. Shifts are full-time with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 4/5 driving licence with clean driving record.
• 2–3 years trailer/prime mover experience.
• Physically fit and able to perform basic manual cargo handling.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate prime mover & trailer to transport containers between PSA port, warehouses, customer sites and yards islandwide.
• Conduct mandatory pre-trip, in-transit and post-trip inspections: tyres, brakes, lights, oil, coolant, and security components.
• Secure cargo properly with chains, straps and binders to prevent load shifting or damage during transit.
• Adhere to traffic laws and safety policies; maintain a clean driving record.
• Follow delivery schedules and update operations team on status, delays or road issues.
• Report accidents or defects; log driving hours, mileage, fuel usage and toll receipts.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle; keep documents valid.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery locations; assist with cargo handling when required.
• Perform ad-hoc transport duties as assigned by operations supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate prime mover & trailer truck to transport containers, goods between PSA port, warehouses, customer sites and construction yards islandwide.
• Conduct mandatory pre-trip, in-transit and post-trip vehicle inspections: check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, coolant, trailer coupling and security components, ensure the vehicle is roadworthy before departure.
• Secure cargo properly with chains, straps and binders to prevent load shifting or damage during transit; follow loading/unloading safety procedures.
• Adhere strictly to LTA traffic laws, port safety regulations, construction site rules and company safety policies at all times; maintain a clean driving record with minimal demerit points.
• Follow assigned delivery schedules and routes, update operation team promptly on delivery status, delays or any on-road issues via radio/company system.
• Report all accidents, vehicle defects, mechanical faults and incidents to supervisor immediately; keep accurate log of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption and toll receipts.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic routine maintenance of the assigned prime mover and trailer; keep vehicle documents (road tax, insurance, inspection papers) valid and organised.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery locations; assist with cargo handling when required.
• Perform ad-hoc transport duties and other tasks assigned by the operations supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Hold valid Singapore Class 4 / Class 5 driving licence; minimum 2–3 years proven trailer/prime mover driving experience (container/heavy cargo hauling experience preferred).
• Clean driving record, no serious traffic offences or reckless driving history; familiar with Singapore road network, PSA port rules and construction site safety protocols.
• Physically fit, able to work long hours, flexible shifts and overtime; able to perform basic manual labour for cargo securing.
