Job summary

Fenix is seeking an embedded software engineer to join the trading team in Singapore. You will solve a variety of problems, build shared tooling across the trading workflow, and evolve a configurable codebase that traders rely on to grow the business.

You will pair with traders, promote good engineering practices, and mentor colleagues at all coding levels. Strong Python, testing, and collaboration with non-engineers are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong Python coding, packaging and testing practices, with pandas experience.
• Ability to write clean, well-documented code and tests that others can read.
• Fluent written and spoken English, and experience working with non-engineers.
• Real software engineering judgement: design, generalisation, and clean interfaces.
• Curiosity about markets and trading workflows; finance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with traders to translate problems into practical software solutions.
• Build and maintain shared tooling across the trading workflow (data processing, pricing, analysis, monitoring).
• Shape codebase into generic, configurable components aligned with the trading platform.
• Promote test coverage, reproducible environments, version control, and code reviews.
• Pair with and mentor traders at various coding levels.
