Job summary

Fenix One Asia Pte. Ltd. is looking for an embedded software engineer to join our trading team. You will work alongside traders to turn problems into practical tools and build shared tooling that scales with the desks as markets evolve.

You will create and maintain data processing, pricing, and strategy configuration tools, while upholding testing, CI, and robust code practices. You will mentor traders and help keep the platform adaptable and fast.

Qualifications

• Strong Python. You write readable, testable code with packaging, environments, typing, testing, pandas, and HTTP/DB APIs.
• Real software engineering judgement: separation of concerns, configuring well, generalisation decisions.
• Fluent Git; help others get there.
• Experience building internal tools for non-engineers and staying close to users.
• Clear written and spoken English for technical trade-offs.
• Curiosity about markets; prior finance experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with traders to understand problems and turn them into practical solutions, whether they want a tool built or help building it themselves.
• Build and own shared tooling across the trading workflow: data processing, pricing and strategy configuration, trade analysis, reporting and monitoring.
• Shape the desks' codebase into generic, configurable, well-tested components, and keep it in step with our trading platform as it evolves.
• Champion good engineering practice, including testing, reproducible environments, source control and code review, and make the right approach the easy one.
• Pair with and mentor traders at every level of coding experience.
