Job summary

Centalion, a leading independent commodities trading house, is hiring a Trading Assistant in Singapore to support front-office traders. You will help manage risk, analyze P&L drivers, and ensure accurate deal entry while collaborating with quantitative analysts.

The role involves building data pipelines, integrating external data sources, creating dashboards for real-time market monitoring, and helping develop trading strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, math, statistics or CS.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong Excel and proficiency in Python is a must.
• Good IT skills (SQL and MongoDB); C++ or C# are a plus.
• Experience in trading/commodities or financial institutions preferred (2–3 years).
• Fresh graduates with above required skills will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure risk and P&L is accurately reflected in the system and in line with trader expectations.
• Ensure timely and accurate deal entry of trades.
• Work closely with traders, quantitative and fundamental analysts to help deliver on other value adding tasks such as follows: Design, implement, and maintain quantitative models and algorithms to analyse and forecast energy market trends, price movements, and supply-demand dynamics.
• Innovate, identify and deliver on improvements in processes and systems.
• Integrate alternative data sources (e.g. freight tracking, social media sentiment) into models to enhance decision-making. Ensure data integrity and manage datasets efficiently using Python, times series databases or other tools
• Build and maintain dashboards and tools for real-time analytics and monitoring of key market indicators. Gather and analyse large datasets from various sources, both internal and external, and present findings in a clear and concise manner through data visualization tools
• Develop and implement trading strategies
• Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by manager
