Job summary

Gunvor Group is seeking a Desk Developer to operate and optimize cloud infrastructure, build data pipelines, and enable automated deployment strategies for trading systems. You will integrate external data sources and support machine learning efforts in a fast-paced energy trading environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with Azure, Databricks, and containerization, plus strong programming skills in Python/Java/C#.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in data engineering or trading systems.
• Proven ability to design or implement trading execution algorithms.
• Strong understanding of order book dynamics and market microstructure.

Responsibilities

• Operate and optimize cloud infrastructure (Azure).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for market and operational datasets.
• Integrate external data sources into trading systems.
• Assist in developing ML models and back-testing.
• Provide real-time support to traders.
• Develop tools for trade capture, P&L reporting, and risk management.
• Automate workflows to reduce operational risk.
• Document systems and model assumptions.
