Job summary

Phillips 66 International Trading Pte Ltd is seeking a Renewable Fuels & Credits Trader to develop, manage and trade global renewable fuels opportunities with a focus on Asia. The role involves physical and financial trading, risk management, and expanding our fuels portfolio across locations and counterparties.

The successful candidate will work within a renewables team, collaborate with Refining, Emerging Energy, VCO and other Commercial groups, and travel as needed to meet business

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in Singapore on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Generate value (net margin) for Phillips 66.
• Maintain renewable fuels and credits trading positions (physical and financial) in Asia.
• Provide trade position strategy and position management.
• Build relationships with external trading counterparties.
• Identify, pursue and implement new sourcing and trading opportunities.
• Work as part of a global trading team to manage the renewable fuels portfolio.
• Support the Asian business in meeting regulatory/compliance obligations.
• Effectively manage price risk exposure from trading activities.
• Acquire and communicate market intelligence up to executive management.
• Support Renewables strategic initiatives within Refining, Marketing and Emerging Energy.
• Become a recognized expert on renewable fuels market components for Phillips 66.

The Renewable Fuels & Credits Trader will be responsible for developing, managing and trading global renewable fuels & credits opportunities, with particular focus on trade exposure management. The successful candidate will work as part of a renewables team to support global and Asian renewable objectives. This will include physical and financial trading; developing new business streams within products and credit markets; expanding the scope of our fuels business; managing and optimizing storage locations; securing term offtake and supply agreements; diversifying our feedstock & fuels pool and internal stakeholder management working closely with Refining, Emerging Energy, VCO and other Commercial groups.

What You’ll Do

• Generate value (net margin) for Phillips 66
• Maintain/Build renewable fuels and credits physical and financial trading position in Asia
• Provide trade position strategy and position management
• Build strong relationships with external trading counterparties
• Understand counterparty requirements, strategies,drivers, business portfolio and market views
• Identify, pursue and implement new sourcing and trading opportunities.
• Work as part of a global trading team to fully manage the company’s renewable fuels portfolio
• Support the Asian business in meeting their regulatory/compliance obligations
• Effectively manage price risk exposure from trading activities
• Build strong internal relationships within the Asian/Global Commercial organisation and with our key internal stakeholders(Refining, VCO, Marketing & Emerging Energy)
• Acquire and communicate market intelligence to internal parties up to and including executive management
• Support Refining, Marketing and Emerging Energy strategic initiatives that involve Renewables
• Become a recognised expert on renewable fuels key market and trading components for Phillips 66

What You’ll Bring – Required

• Legally authorised to work in the Singapore on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions on local terms and conditions
• Proven ability to make real-time commercial decisions that have a significant financial impact both independently and as part of the trading team
• Minimum 18 months trading experience in renewable fuels & credit markets
• Understanding of risk/hedging tools to manage underlying positions
• Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, counterparties, suppliers and consultants
• Collaborative team player with ability to work constructively within a very close and often demanding team-working environment, and interact well with other parts of the group
• Self-starter with desire to grow a business and develop their own role within it
• Flexible; able to reassess market conditions and adjust market views accordingly
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

What Makes You Stand Out

• Previous experience of Renewable fuels trading in SAF or HVO
• Knowledge of Agriculture financial markets
• Knowledge of Biofuels and the economic value it creates in the Clean Product supply chain
• Knowledge of various global Renewables policies like the US RVO or the Australian ACCUs
• Proven ability to add significant value through trading or marketing expertise in the Asian markets, preferably with experience of trading physical and financial products
• Previous experience with marketing/trading/refinery/blending/oil movements operations
• Knowledge/experience of marine issues pertaining to the movement of products
• Understanding of the characteristics of products and processes in terms of oil refining, including an appreciation of specifications, and global supply/demand economics.
• Bachelors Degreefrom an accredited college or university

Additional Information

• This role will require the willingness to work various hours to manage communication across the globe and with key customers/suppliers. Some travel is required (5-20%)
