Reporting to the Director, Asia Market Analysis, the Advisor, Market Research (Renewables) supports the Singapore commodity trading group with timely, accurate, and forward-looking views of renewable fuels, feedstocks, margins, trade flows, and policy developments across Asia and other key global markets. The role integrates market, policy, operational, and commercial inputs into clear, commercially useful insight on supply and demand, margins, price direction, and trade-relevant shifts across SAF, HVO, and the feedstock value chain.

This is an experienced individual-contributor analyst role. The candidate will independently own renewable fuels and feedstocks coverage and handle more complex, ambiguous questions that a foundational analyst would elevate. He/she will apply market-research methods in new or less-defined commercial contexts, connect the regional view to the global balance, and translate analysis into actionable recommendations that shape desk assumptions.

What You’ll Do
  • Own Asia renewable fuels market analysis focused on SAF and HVO, covering supply, demand, balances, margins, and price direction.
  • Maintain regional SAF and HVO balances, including production, utilisation, feedstock demand, product output, and trade flows.
  • Track producer activity, exports, imports, and vessel movements, translating changes into market implications and trade-relevant ideas.
  • Maintain UCO supply-demand balances and a simple tallow balance; maintain palm oil balances for the global team.
  • Develop and improve cost and margin analysis for SAF and HVO, including relevant duty and policy assumptions.
  • Integrate regional balances and flow analysis with the global view, reconciling assumptions with traders and regional peers.
  • Translate policy, certification, regulatory, and operational changes into implications for renewable fuels demand, trade, margins, and competitiveness.
  • Handle non-routine questions independently and partner with traders to pressure-test assumptions and focus analysis on commercial decisions.
What You’ll Bring – Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 4 or more years of relevant experience in market analysis, biofuels, renewables, feedstocks, agriculture-linked commodities, trading support, or related commercial analytics, with a track record of independent coverage ownership.
  • Intermediate or greater proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working proficiency with Power BI, Python, or similar tools to organize data, automate analysis, and present insight.
  • Ability to apply market-research methods in new or complex commercial contexts and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Solid working knowledge of renewable fuels markets, feedstock economics, policy impacts, and regional trade dynamics.
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Prior experience in SAF,HVO, biofuels, feedstocks, agriculture-linked commodities, or renewables markets in Asia.
  • Strong understanding of policy, regulatory, and certification developments affecting renewable fuels markets.
  • Experience building supply-and-demand balances, dashboards, or trader-facing tools using Databricks or Python.
  • Experience using AI agents or automation tools to improve workflows or scale output.
  • Strong stakeholder management across the Singapore, London, and Houston desks.
