Role Overview
The Trade Finance Executive will oversee end-to-end trade finance operations. This role acts as a pivotal liaison between internal business units (Sales, Procurement, Logistics) and external financial institutions to execute trade instruments smoothly and maintain strict regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Finance Operations: Manage the full lifecycle of trade instruments, including the issuance, negotiation, and settlement of Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby LCs, Bank Guarantees (BGs), and Bills of Exchange.
- Banking & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with financial institutions, customers, and vendors to facilitate the seamless processing of all trade finance documentation.
- Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure all commercial and shipping documents comply strictly with UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, and international trade governance. Assist with internal and external trade finance audits.
- Financial Monitoring & Forecasting: Reconcile incoming/outgoing transactions, resolve payment discrepancies, and track bank facility usage to forecast future liquidity requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align financial documentation with logistics schedules alongside sales, procurement, and supply chain teams.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on international trade rules, banking regulations, and global sanctions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in trade finance operations, ideally within commodities, metals, or steel trading environments.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, and SWIFT messaging formats.
- Software Skills: Highly proficient in MS Excel; hands‑on experience with ERP systems is a strong advantage.
