Job summary

Soleum Energy Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Trade Finance Associate to support international trade transactions across Asia Pacific and Europe.

You will handle trade finance applications, document review, and coordination with banks to ensure timely financings and compliant operations. The role requires 1–2 years of trade finance experience, strong analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1–2 years in trade finance, international banking, or similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing trade finance applications and documentation, adhering to global trade regulations and company policies.
• Prepare and review letters of credit and other trade finance instruments.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of trade finance documents and resolve discrepancies.
• Liaise with banks/financial institutions to track trade finance applications and transactions.
• Coordinate shipment with commercial and operations teams; manage trade finance communications.
• Evaluate the creditworthiness of counterparties and partners in trade finance deals.
• Monitor trade finance transactions, payment timelines, and collections.
• Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
• Maintain records and documentation for trade finance activities.
• Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements; act as point of contact for trade finance queries.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

With our growing business, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Trade Finance Associate who is keen to work in an extremely fast paced and challenging environment. The Trade Finance Associate will play a crucial role in facilitating international trade transactions and ensuring smooth operations related to trade finance. This position requires a strong understanding of trade finance instruments, international banking practices, and exceptional organizational skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in processing trade finance applications and documentation, adhering to global trade regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with Trade Finance team members to prepare and review letters of credit, and other trade finance instruments.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of trade finance documents and resolve any discrepancies to facilitate seamless transactions.
• Liaise with banks and financial institutions to track the progress of trade finance applications and transactions.
• Work closely with the commercial and operations teams to coordinate timely shipment of goods and manage trade finance-related communication.
• Assist in evaluating the creditworthiness of counterparties and partners involved in trade finance deals.
• Support in monitoring trade finance transactions, payment timelines, and collections.
• Keep abreast of changes in international trade regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
• Maintain proper records and documentation for trade finance activities and transactions.
• Identify process inefficiencies and propose solutions to enhance trade finance operations.Act as a point of contact of trade finance queries.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in: Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Min. 1-2 years of experience in trade finance, international banking, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Solid knowledge of trade finance products, and export/import financing.
• Exceptional attention to detail and meticulousness in managing multiple trade finance transactions simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and mitigate trade-related risks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skill to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Ability to work independently under high pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A fast learner with a proactive attitude, willingness to acquire new knowledge is a plus.
• Equivalent experience in Oil & Gas industry is an advantage.
