Position Overview
We are seeking a Trade Finance Operations & Settlements Executive to support the end-to-end execution of physical oil trading transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing trade finance activities, overseeing operational workflows, coordinating trade settlements, and providing basic accounting support to ensure the smooth execution of transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Finance Operations
- Manage and monitor trade finance instruments, including Letters of Credit, documentary collections, and bank guarantees.
- Liaise with banks and counterparties regarding financing arrangements and trade documentation.
- Prepare, review, and submit financing documents in accordance with banking requirements.
- Track financing utilization, maturity schedules, and payment obligations.
Settlements
- Verify invoices and supporting documents for payment and settlement.
- Manage trade-related receivables and payables.
- Ensure timely settlements with counterparties and financial institutions.
- Reconcile trade settlements and investigate any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate settlement records and supporting documentation.
Basic Accounting Support
- Process and track trade-related invoices and payments.
- Perform basic reconciliations of bank transactions, invoices, and payments.
- Maintain accurate financial and operational records.
- Support month-end processes by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in trade finance, trade operations, settlements, or commodity trading support functions.
- Prior experience within oil, energy, commodities, or trading environments is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Letters of Credit, trade finance products, and settlement processes.
- Familiarity with shipping and trade documentation.
- Basic understanding of accounting and financial reconciliation processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
