Job summary

Imperial Construction & Engineering Pte. Ltd. is seeking skilled tilers to join our on-site teams performing tile installation for residential and commercial spaces.

You will assess surface conditions, measure areas, cut and fit tiles, and ensure precise alignment with blueprints. Responsibilities include calculating material needs, preparing surfaces with plaster or cement, laying tile, applying grout, and finishing with proper sealing.

Qualifications

• Min 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience with plastering, plumbing, electrical, hacking and renovation works.
• Able to lift heavy materials and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Work out material quantities and adhesive needed for area specified.
• Cut tiles to size or shape with hand-cutters or bench-mounted tools.
• Prepare surfaces by levelling off with plaster, sand or cement.
• Decorate and protect floors and walls using all kinds of tiles.
• Fix tiles and apply grout before finishing off.
• Lay intricate mosaic tiles as required.
• Work in clients’ homes or businesses.
• Tap tiles into place to adhere to base without damage.
• Follow blueprints precisely and measure surfaces as needed.
• Be a team player, patient and precise; work well under pressure.
• Willingness to work in non-climate controlled conditions; overtime.

• Working out how many tiles and how much adhesive you’ll need for a particular area
• Cutting tiles to a certain size or shape with hand-cutters or bench-mounted tools
• Preparing surfaces by levelling off with plaster, sand or cement
• Decorating and protecting floors and walls using all kinds of tiles (including ceramic, clay, slate, marble and glass)
• Fixing the tiles and applying grout before finishing off
• Laying intricate mosaic tiles
• Working in clients’ homes or businesses.
• Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base, making sure not to break or damage tiles
• Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs
• Must be a team player and gets along well with other co-workers.
• Being patient and precise
• Being thorough, with good attention to detail
• Have thinking and reasoning skills
• Able to work well under pressure.
