Job summary

Smartz Builders is seeking an experienced tiler to install and finish tile work in residential and commercial spaces. You will cut, lay and finish tile surfaces, align patterns, and ensure high precision in corners and around obstacles.

The role involves working in outdoor and interior settings with heat and cold exposure, requiring physical stamina and attention to detail. The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of tiling experience, renovation exposure is a plus, and flexibility to work

Qualifications

• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Able to lift heavy materials and equipment.
• Minimum 3 years relevant working experience.
• Renovation experience is a plus.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; extended hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Cut tiles and shape them to fit obstacles and tight spaces.
• Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar with screeds and trowels.
• Align tiles with levels and straightedges for even patterns.
• Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble with accuracy.
• Prepare surfaces with waterproofing and clean surfaces prior to tiling.
• Create decorative wall and floor designs with mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms.
• Tap tiles into place carefully to avoid damage and ensure proper adhesion.
• Follow blueprints, measure surfaces and plan tiling steps.

Job description

Cut tiles and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools.

Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilizing tools such as screeds, brushes and trowels.

Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise .

Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble and ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results.

Prepare various surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath and by cleaning the surfaces properly.

Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms.

Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base, making sure not to break or damage tiles.

Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs
