Job summary

Vanguard Care Home in Tampines, Hougang, and Senja is seeking a Therapy Assistant to support Therapists in delivering rehab activities and to document progress promptly. You will assist with activities of daily living, mobility exercises, and cognitive activities, under supervision.

The role involves educating residents on equipment use, ensuring safety and infection control, preparing equipment, and updating therapists on patient progress.

Qualifications

• WSQ Higher Certificate in Therapy Support.
• NITEC in Community Care and Social Service.
• Work-Study Diploma in Rehabilitation Care.
• Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy from non-recognised institutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Therapists with implementing activities of daily living, ranging exercises, mobilization and cognitive activities.
• Educate residents on proper use of equipment and exercise routines as prescribed by Therapists.
• Adhere to safety measures and infection control procedures.
• Prepare apparatus/equipment/mobility aids per Therapists' instructions.
• Update residents' progress to Therapists promptly.
• Portering residents for therapy/group activities.
• Maintain updated residents'/clients' records and data entry for KPI programmes.
• Ensure regular maintenance check of therapy equipment.
• Keep rehab equipment clean and safe after use.

Job description

Location: Vanguard Care Home @ Tampines / Hougang / Senja

The Therapy Assistant is responsible for executing rehab activities as planned by Therapists and will be required to perform documentation promptly.

Clinical Care

• Work under the supervison of Therapists to assist in implementing individual and group activities such as activities of daily living, ranging exercises, mobilization, and cognitive activities.
• Educate residents/clients on proper use of equipment and exercise routines as prescribed by the Therapists.
• Adhere to all safety measures and infection control procedures.
• Prepare apparatus/equipment/mobility aids according to procedures and protocols as instructed by the Therapists.
• Update residents'/clients' progress promptly to the Therapists.
• Portering of residents for therapy/group activities

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain updated residents/clients' records and data entry for programmes KPI.
• Ensure regular maintenance check of therapy equipment
• Ensure cleanliness and maintain safe work environment (e.g. keeping rehab equipment after use)
• Inform supervisor when stock supplies are low
• Perform other administrative duties or other duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Manager.

Education Requirements:

• WSQ Higher Certificate in Therapy Support

• Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy from non-recognised institutions
