Job summary

Society for the Aged Sick is seeking a Therapy Aide to carry out therapy programs for residents under the supervision of Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. The role focuses on assisting with routine therapy, ambulation training, and supervising activities of daily living.

You will be involved in planning group sessions and documenting progress, while upholding safety and cleanliness in rehabilitation spaces.

Qualifications

• NITEC in Community Care or WSQ Certificate in Therapy Service is required.
• Experience in therapy support tasks is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine physical and occupational therapy treatment under supervision.
• Assist residents with ambulation training using walkers, braces or parallel bars.
• Support residents in exercises using physiotherapy equipment.
• Supervise residents in daily living activities and leisure participation.
• Plan and facilitate group exercise and activity sessions under supervision.
• Observe residents during treatment, ensure safety and report to supervising therapists.
• Document residents’ exercises and sessions; manage attendance records.
• Clean and sterilize equipment and rehabilitation areas.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

The Therapy Aide is responsible for carrying out therapy programs under the supervision of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist for our residents at the nursing home.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITES

1. Administer routine physical and occupational therapy treatment under the supervision of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
2. Assist residents for ambulation training through the use of walkers, braces or parallel bars.
3. Assist residents to perform exercises through the use of Physiotherapy exercise equipment.
4. Supervise residents in practicing activities of daily living and leisure participation.
5. Plan and facilitate group exercise and activity sessions under the guidance of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
6. Observe residents’ reaction during treatment, ensure safety and report them promptly to Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
7. Perform administrative duties including documentation of residents’ exercises and activity sessions accordingly and attendance taking.
8. Clean and sterilize equipment used and rehabilitation areas.
9. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

• Regular working hours: Monday - Friday (8.30am - 5.30pm)
• NITEC in Community Care or WSQ Certificate in Therapy Service.
