Job summary

The NAC National Arts Council is seeking an Assistant Manager / Manager (Performing Arts – Theatre) to drive the growth of Singapore's theatre sector under Our SG Arts Plan. You will implement strategic initiatives for audience development and ecosystem sustainability, and administer grant programmes with attention to timelines and outcomes.

In this role you will research sector trends, assess project proposals, prepare briefing materials, and engage with artists and arts groups to foster

Qualifications

• Familiarity with theatre sector and funding mechanisms.
• Experience or exposure in managing funding schemes and SOP compliance.
• Experience supporting projects from conception to implementation.
• Ability to research trends and inform strategic planning.
• Ability to interpret data to support decision‑making.
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills and engagement.
• Clear rationale articulation and cross‑level communication.
• Active engagement with arts community through events and media.

Responsibilities

• Implement theatre sector development initiatives per Our SG Arts Plan.
• Research sector trends and support strategic planning.
• Assess, monitor, and review project proposals throughout lifecycle.
• Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Support stakeholder engagement during planning and implementation.
• Build professional relationships with artists and arts groups.
• Monitor sector developments through events, performances and media.
• Administer grant programmes across funding schemes.
• Process grant applications and assist evaluation.
• Maintain funding activity records and timely updates.
• Engage applicants on requirements and outcomes.
• Process claims and ensure timely payments.
• Support team operations and deliver tasks to high standard.
• Participate in team meetings and plan workplans.
• Contribute ideas for process improvement and innovation.
• Foster positive team culture.
