The role involves designing workshops, coaching vocal and movement skills, and collaborating with curriculum and leadership teams to integrate theatre into early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification in Acting or Theatre is highly preferred.
• Formal professional training in acting, voice, movement, and performance techniques.
• 8–10 years of professional theatre or performing arts experience, incl. adult learning.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programmes in drama and theatre for educators.

Position:Theatre & Performing Arts Trainer
Location:Singapore

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Theatre & Performing Arts Trainer to lead the delivery of professional development programmes for our educators in Singapore. The successful candidate will leverage formal theatre training and professional performance expertise to equip educators with advanced skills in storytelling, drama, vocal techniques, movement, stage presence, and expressive communication, enhancing the quality of classroom teaching and children's learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver high-quality training programmes in drama, theatre, storytelling, movement, voice projection, and expressive communication for educators.
• Develop practical workshops that integrate theatre methodologies into early childhood education and classroom practices.
• Coach educators in vocal delivery, body language, physical expression, improvisation, characterisation, and audience engagement.
• Provide guidance on performance techniques for school productions, concerts, graduations, and other events.
• Mentor educators to improve confidence, presentation skills, classroom engagement, and communication with children and parents.
• Develop training resources, facilitator guides, and learning materials aligned with the organisation's curriculum and training objectives.
• Observe training outcomes, provide constructive feedback, and evaluate programme effectiveness.
• Collaborate with curriculum, operations, and leadership teams to continuously enhance educator capabilities through performing arts-based pedagogy.
• Keep abreast of developments in theatre education and incorporate industry best practices into training programmes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related discipline.
• A postgraduate qualification in Acting, Theatre, Musical Theatre, Performance, or a related performing arts discipline is highly preferred.
• Formal professional training in acting, voice, movement, performance techniques, and text analysis from a recognised performing arts institution.
• Demonstrated expertise in acting, vocal presentation, physical theatre, storytelling, movement, and performance coaching.
• At least 8–10 years of professional experience in theatre performance, theatre education, or performing arts training, including experience delivering adult learning programmes.
• Experience designing and facilitating structured training programmes and workshops for educators or professionals.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to travel across centres in Singapore to conduct training sessions.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with qualifications and training comparable to the following will be highly regarded:

• BA (Honours) in Drama and Theatre Studies.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Acting, Music and Dance Performance, with specialised training in performance, text analysis, vocal and physical presentation, acting, dance, and singing.
• Professional experience applying theatre techniques to education, training, coaching, or curriculum development.
