Job summary

The Narrative Nest Singapore is seeking a Freelance Public Speaking Facilitator to deliver structured workshops across primary to tertiary levels in schools and institutions throughout Singapore.

You will guide students through lessons, teach specific speaking techniques, and help prepare and deliver speeches on assigned topics, with feedback tailored to individual learners.

Qualifications

• Explicitly teach public speaking techniques, not just facilitation.
• Clear articulation and delivery in English.
• Model effective speaking behaviours for students.
• Experience delivering structured school-based workshops is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured public speaking workshops aligned with provided lesson plans.
• Teach and model specific speaking techniques (voice projection, pacing, articulation, audience engagement).
• Guide students in crafting and presenting speeches based on provided materials.
• Support students in organizing ideas into clear presentations.
• Facilitate group discussions and basic debate elements.
• Provide clear, individual feedback based on evaluation criteria.
• Ensure sufficient practice time for applying techniques.

Our public speaking programmes focus on developing students’ confidence, clarity, and ability to communicate effectively in structured settings. Sessions are interactive, practice-based, and designed to help students apply speaking techniques in real contexts.

Job Summary

Facilitate public speaking workshops for students across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, with a focus on building confidence, speech delivery skills, and structured presentation abilities.

You will guide students through structured lessons, teach specific public speaking techniques, and support them in preparing and delivering presentations on assigned topics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured public speaking workshops aligned with provided lesson plans
• Teach and model specific speaking techniques (e.g. voice projection, pacing, articulation, audience engagement)
• Guide students in crafting and presenting speeches based on provided materials
• Support students in identifying key information and organising ideas into clear presentations
• Facilitate group discussions and basic debate elements where required
• Provide clear, individual feedback to students based on defined evaluation criteria
• Ensure students are given sufficient practice time to apply techniques taught
• Maintain a structured, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment
• Adapt delivery to different student progression levels
• Work closely with programme leads and school staff to ensure alignment with expectations

• Patient and able to support students with varying confidence levels

Instructional Delivery

• Able to follow structured lesson plans and deliver consistently across classes
• Understands how to scaffold learning for different age groups
• Ensures learning objectives are met within session time

Adaptability

• Adjusts teaching approach based on student ability levels and class dynamics
• Handles classroom variability while maintaining lesson structure

Professional Conduct

• Punctual, prepared, and reliable in school environments
• Able to coordinate with co-facilitators and school staff

Eligibility & Compliance

• Eligible to work in Singapore
• Registered with MOE as an Instructor/Trainer (MOE IRS), or willing to apply when required

Education

• Minimum GCE ‘A’ Levels or Diploma
• Background in Communication, English, Education, Theatre, or related fields is advantageous

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience coaching or teaching public speaking or similar programmes
• Experience working with students across different age groups
• Experience delivering structured, school-based workshops

Programme Requirements Awareness (Internal Expectation)

Facilitators should be prepared to work within programmes that may require:

• Structured lesson plans with clearly defined techniques per session
• Use of curated materials for student speeches
• Student presentations in individual or group formats
• Written individual feedback and evaluation rubrics

Compensation

• Assistant Trainer: $25-30/h
• Main Trainer: $45 – $60/h
