Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Test Manager with strong Banking and Financial Services domain expertise to lead end-to-end testing for large, complex programmes. The role involves defining test strategy, governing quality across multiple test phases, managing large teams and vendors, and ensuring regulatory and audit compliance in a highly regulated banking environment.
Experience Requirements
- 10–15 years of overall IT testing experience
- 5–8 years in Test Management roles
- Mandatory experience in Banking or Financial Services
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Governance
- Define and own the overall test strategy aligned with programme goals, bank standards, and regulatory requirements
- Establish test governance frameworks, quality gates, entry/exit criteria, and reporting standards
- Ensure compliance with bank SDLC, risk, audit, and regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS, internal audits)
Test Planning & Management
- Develop and manage master test plans and phase-wise plans (SIT, UAT, Regression, Performance, DR)
- Estimate testing effort, manage budgets, schedules, and resource planning
- Oversee multi-vendor, onshore/offshore test teams across functional, automation, and performance testing
Test Execution & Quality Assurance
- Ensure timely and high-quality execution of SIT, UAT, Regression, Performance/Stress, and DR testing
- Drive defect management, triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution
- Enforce risk-based testing for high-impact banking functions
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as the primary testing contact for business users, IT teams, vendors, and senior management
- Present test status, risks, and quality metrics to steering committees
- Provide go-live readiness recommendations
Process Improvement & Automation
- Drive continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and methodologies
- Govern test automation strategy and CI/CD integration
- Ensure effective use of test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, ALM, Azure DevOps)
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Test Managers, Test Leads, and QA teams
- Manage performance goals, reviews, and team capability uplift
- Handle large teams of 30–100+ resources
Required Skills & Experience
Banking Domain
Core Banking (Retail / Corporate)
Payments (SWIFT, FAST, GIRO, RTGS)
Solid understanding of banking regulations, risk controls, and audits
Technical & Testing Skills
- End-to-end test lifecycle management
- Test management tools: HP ALM, JIRA, Azure DevOps
- Automation governance: Selenium, UFT
- End-to-end automation frameworks:
- Playwright (TypeScript)
- Karate (Java)
- Performance testing governance: LoadRunner, JMeter
Experience testing complex integrations (APIs, middleware, batch processing)
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Preferred certifications:
- ISTQB Advanced / Test Manager
- PMP / Prince2 / Agile
- Banking or Risk-related certifications (advantage)
