FILPAL (S) PTE. LTD. invites applications for a Test and Assembly Engineer at our Singapore branch.
You will support our growing engineering team in assembling, testing, and validating products, ensuring quality and reliability while collaborating with R&D, Quality, and Production for NPI and continuous improvement. You will perform prototype to production assembly, conduct functional tests, analyze data, and report deviations to engineers.
The Test and Assembly Engineer employee will support our growing engineering team at our newly established Singapore branch. This position provides the opportunity to play a key role in the assembly, testing, and validation of our products, ensuring quality, reliability, and adherence to company standards. You will work in a dynamic environment alongside the R&D, Quality, and Production teams, supporting new product introduction and contributing to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform assembly and integration of electronic and mechanical components for prototypes, pre-production, and production units.
Conduct functional and performance testing on subassemblies and finished products using automated and manual test systems.
Analyze test data, document results, and report issues or deviations to engineering and quality teams.
Support troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause investigations for non-conforming units.
Participate in the setup and optimization of assembly and test processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
Maintain calibration and proper usage of test and assembly tools, jigs, and equipment.
Collaborate with design and process engineers to implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with safety, ESD, and quality management standards throughout all activities.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of test procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
1–3 years of relevant experience in product assembly, manufacturing testing, or process engineering (fresh graduates with strong technical fundamentals are encouraged to apply).
Familiarity with test and measurement instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power analyzers, VNA, spectrum analyzer).
Basic understanding of PCB assembly, electronic circuits, and system integration.
Hands-on skills in soldering, cable assembly, or mechanical fitting are advantageous.
Proficiency in data analysis and documentation (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, or Python is a plus).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience with automated test systems or test scripting.
Exposure to manufacturing quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC standards).
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts.
Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or pilot production builds.
