Job summary

OPTIMUM SOLUTIONS (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD is seeking a motivated L1 Test Analyst to join the QA team in the banking sector. You will ensure quality, reliability, and security across core banking, digital, and payment applications, working closely with development, business analysts, and stakeholders.

You will execute SIT and UAT, manage defects, and support business users during UAT cycles. Strong communication and a proactive mindset are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years hands-on software testing experience, banking/fintech domain preferred.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience executing SIT and supporting UAT.

Responsibilities

• Test Execution: run SIT and UAT test cases within project timelines and quality standards.
• Defect Management: log, track, and re-test defects using standard tools (e.g., Jira, HP ALM).
• UAT Coordination: assist business stakeholders during UAT cycles and clarify expected outcomes.
• Collaboration: work with developers, analysts, and project managers to troubleshoot issues.
• Test Reporting: provide clear daily test and defect status updates to the Test Lead/Manager.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented L1 Test Analyst to join our dynamic quality assurance team within the banking sector. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of our core banking, digital, and payment applications.

You will work closely with development teams, business analysts, and business stakeholders to execute both System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Because you will often bridge the gap between technical teams and business users, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Execution: Execute pre-defined test cases and scripts for SIT and UAT accurately and within project timelines, ensuring adherence to financial compliance and quality standards.


• Defect Management: Identify, log, track, and re-test software defects using standard defect-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, HP ALM).


• UAT Coordination: Support business stakeholders (such as operations, risk, and product teams) during UAT cycles, helping them understand test scenarios, guiding them through execution, and clarifying expected outcomes.


• Collaboration: Partner closely with software developers, business analysts, and project managers to troubleshoot issues, clarify functional requirements, and ensure seamless delivery.


• Test Reporting: Provide clear, concise daily test execution and defect status reports to the Test Lead/Manager.


• Documentation: Assist in maintaining test logs, traceability matrices, and end-of-test summary reports.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.


• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in software testing or quality assurance, with prior exposure to the banking, fintech, or financial services domain strongly preferred.


• Testing Expertise: Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Testing Life Cycle (STLC).


• Demonstrated hands-on experience in executing System Integration Testing (SIT) and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to translate complex technical or banking system jargon into business-friendly language and vice versa when liaising with business users.


• Tools Knowledge: Familiarity with test management and bug-tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, or HP ALM/QC.


• Mindset: Strong analytical mindset, keen attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
