Temporary Coordinator - 6 Months (DMOTYL)

Job Category: Research

Posting Date: 19 Aug 2026

The Coordinator will support a clinical research project evaluating the baseline survivorship needs of lung cancer patients and assessing the impact of a Navigator-Led Survivorship Clinic on patient outcomes. The role focuses on evaluating the baseline survivorship needs and involves patient recruitment, survey administration, data collection, and analysis to identify unmet supportive care needs. This will contribute to the improvement of survivorship care through future patient-centred interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Recruitment and Informed Consent
  • The coordinator will approach eligible lung cancer patients attending the clinic, explain study objectives, procedures, and participation requirements, and assist in obtaining informed consent in accordance with study protocols and ethical guidelines. The coordinator is expected to always maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with patients and caregivers.
Survey Administration and Patient Support
  • The coordinator will guide patients in completing a needs assessment questionnaire, provide clarification on survey questions whilst ensuring responses remain patient-generated, and monitor survey completion to ensure data quality. Support will also be provided to patients who may require assistance during survey administration.
Data Collection and Management
  • The coordinator will compile and maintain study databases containing patient demographics, clinical characteristics, treatment outcomes, and social determinants of health. Responsibilities include data entry, verification, and quality checks, as well as ensuring the secure handling and storage of research data in compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
Data Analysis and Reporting
  • The coordinator will calculate and summarise needs assessment scores, identify trends and patterns in unmet supportive care needs, and assist in preparing data summaries, presentations, reports, and research outputs for the project team.
Main Requirements:
  • A degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Psychology, Health Services Research, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in a clinical or research setting is advantageous but not required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; compassionate and empathic, particularly when engaging with lung cancer patients who may be experiencing significant physical, psychological, or social distress.
  • Competent in using computer software and programmes for data entry, database management, and analysis (e.g., Microsoft Excel, statistical software).
  • Proficiency in in local languages (Mandarin, dialects, Malay, or Tamil) is strongly preferred, given the linguistically diverse patient population and the need to administer the CNAT verbally to non-English-speaking or illiterate participants.
  • Able to work independently with initiative and creativity, particularly in managing recruitment logistics and coordinating participant follow-up across a 24-month study period.
